Nokia X: First Android-Powered Nokia Phone

If rumors are to be believed then Nokia might unveil its first Android powered phone in February this year. Over the past few months there have been rumors about the Nokia Android Powered phone “Normandy” (now Nokia X). This has said to be replace the aging Asha series phones.

Few hours back, Evleaks has come up with a list of potential specs. If they are accurate, Nokia X will have a four-inch touchscreen display, with 854×540 resolution and will be powered by 1500mAh battery. This will also include a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor (1GHz) with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage.  Along with that it will also support Micro SD card and 5MP camera. Though these specifications are low tech but still better than current Asha series. This is also a siqn that Nokia is more focused on the consumers not willing to spend much on their smartphone.

It will also come with a dual-SIM slot and following the trends of Lumia series handsets, Nokia X will be available in six colors. There is bit twist in the Operating System of the phone. This phone is an Android phone but it has customized Android OS, which isn’t likely to look much like Android either. The customized android gives you a feel of Windows Phone.

As of now, there is no official confirmation about this device. So, there is no clarity that this device is real or just a rumor.  But all the questions about Nokia X could be answered at Mobile World Congress next month. Stay Tuned.
