Samsung Galaxy S5 – Rumors & What to Expect?

Samsung Galaxy S4 landed few months back and users loved its powerful processor, light & sleek body & best ever screen of a smartphone. S4 already set a benchmark for its rivals and is still one of the most powerful phones in the market, but now it’s time to turn our heads towards Galaxy S5.

Samsung Galaxy S5 is becoming the most awaited and most excited phone of this year. Yet there is no official news about the release date, specifications, features and price of the product but rumors about the product proves that all eyes are on S5. SAMSUNG GALAXY S5 Display – Size, Type & Resolution

Rumor:

Rumors have centered on a display size of around 5.5-inches to 5.7 inch and screen resolution that could either be QHD (1440 x 2560 resolution) or Ultra High (3840 x 2160 resolution), and a flexible display. 

Expectations:

It doesn't seem likely that Samsung will increase the screen size to 5.5 or 5.7 inch. Going beyond the size of 5.25 inch would mean that Galaxy S5 start to encroach the territory of the Galaxy Note 3, which is also a flagship product of Samsung.

There are more chances that Galaxy S5 would come in QHD (1440 x 2560 resolution). As Samsung already revealed a 2,560 x 1440 resolution display on an unannounced smartphone. But there are no chances of Ultra High Display (Also known as 4K) in Galaxy S5 or even in any other phone coming this year. Trends show that 4K will be coming in 2015.

There are no proof that Samsung is using this QHD display in Galaxy S5 but at the very least it is conformed that Samsung won’t offer a display that is worse than the Galaxy S4′s display.

There are some other rumors that galaxy S5 will be coming in flexible display or it will come up in LCD display instead of Almond Display. There is possibility that Samsung may switch to cheap LCD display only if Galaxy S5 is coming in costlier full metal frame. There are clear indications from Samsung that they will reveal Galaxy S5 in two phrase. First it will come up with plastic body and Almond display, and in second phrase, they will bring up LCD Flexible display. This device would be known as Galaxy S5 – F (or Galaxy S5 - Fashion)

Samsung Galaxy S5 Camera

There are rumors that Galaxy S5 is coming up 20- Megapixel Camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS)

Expectations:

Competition is really very tough here in this category, as Sony Xperia Z1 already has incredible 20-Megapixel camera in it and we should not forget about the super amazing 41-Megapixel camera in Nokia Lumia 1020. Even Galaxy S4 from Samsung itself has a 13-Megapixel camera. So Samsung should come up with 20-Megapixel camera. But as if now, Samsung is working on 20-Megapixel smartphone camera sensor with a view to include it in handsets from the second half of 2014 onwards. It indicates that Galaxy S5 is coming up with 16 Megapixel camera but Galaxy S5–F can come up with 20 Megapixel camera.

There are no indications of Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), which would be problematic as Sony and Nokia upcoming smartphone can use this technology.

Samsung Galaxy S5 CPU, OS and UI

Rumor:

Galaxy is coming up with Android Kitkat 4.4 OS with 64- bit processor.

Expectations:

Yes, that is true. Samsung’s CEO of Mobile Shin Jong-Kyun has stated that the company's "next smartphones will have 64-bit processing". So obviously S5 is coming up with that.  Galaxy S5 may come up with the processor which is clocked at 2.5GHZ.

Along with that there is no dough that Galaxy S5 will have latest OS i.e. Android Kitkat 4.4 in it. Android 4.4 have better cloud support, faster multitasking and many other great features, so it will be advantage for Galaxy S5.

Samsun g Galaxy S5 is coming up with full metal body.

Expectations:

It is true that Samsung have been experimenting with metal-based casings for its approaching line of cutting edge handsets, yet new reports claim the organization may remain faithful to plastics for its approaching Galaxy S5. Famous rumor about S5 is that like iPhone 5S it will also come up with fingerprint reader.

Expectations:  Galaxy S5 is not coming up with fingerprint reader as Samsung is too fussed with fingerprint readers. But it does not mean that Samsung is not providing anything for enhance security. Rumor:

Galaxy S5 will come up with 4 GB RAM to make best use of 64 bit processor.

Expectations:

Various News source are saying that Galaxy S5 will come up with 4GB RAM to make best use of 64 bit processor but actually users won't notice a significant hike in performance due to 64-bit using 4 GB RAM. Apple products are using just 1 GB of RAM with 64 bit processor. So, most probably galaxy S5 will come up with 3GB RAM like the Note 3.

Galaxy S5-F may come up with 4GB RAM. And honestly speaking users won’t feel any difference in performance   between these two.

Expectations:

Camera will be upgraded to 20-Megapixel with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Battery and RAM will stay unchanged i.e 3GB RAM and 4000mAh battery. The major difference would be that it will be in full metal casing, which will give new look as well as keep device more resistant to dust and water. Samsung Galaxy S5 – Release Date & Price

This smartphone is yet not launched, so it will be too early to say about its release date and price, but it is expected that it would be available in US market in this May with the price tag same as of Apple iPhone 5S, i.e. near about 800$ for 32 GB unlocked version because Samsung won’t want to be happy to be called as expensive manufacturer. Another point if price are not comparative with Iphone 5S, Samsung will definitely lose many buyers.
