Windows Phone 8 devices to be launched by Microsoft in October


According to Mary Jo Foley, an old timer viewer, Microsoft will launch its own Windows Phone 8 device on October, 29. Windows Phone 8 is the next generation of the Microsoft's flagship smartphone operating system. According to Foley the launch event will take place in either San Francisco or Los Angeles but as per the Microsoft representative there is no comment on Foley report.

It is expected that Windows Phone 8.0 and 7.8 will be launched later in this year. Microsoft has set a criteria in Windows Phone 7.8 update and it can not be upgradeable to Windows phone 8 due to hardware restriction. There are extraordinary features in the Windows Phone 8 with a more customizable Start screen.


Samsung has also disclose the information of its first Windows Phone 8 device named as the ATIV S. With 4.8 inches screen, ATIV S device provides various features which are mentioned below :

  • 1.5 GHz dual-core processor
  • 1 GB on-board RAM (random access memory)
  • A 2300mAh battery
  • 1.9 Mega Pixel front-facing camera and much more.

According to Foley's sources, Microsoft's will also introduce its Surface RT tablet on October 26 and the day before of 25 October the launching event for Windows 8 and the Surface RT will take place in New York city.
