On the 24th April 2012, Google Inc. launched the head of the cloud drive - Google Drive, it allows users to get 5gb of free space, safe place of storage to any time accessible files, access files anywhere and collaborative work. Stable release took place on 4th May 2012 and now docs.google.com replaced with drive.google.com.
Google's client software is available for the devices like Microsoft Windows PC, Apple, Google Android smartphone and tablet PCs to install. Information is, the iPhone and iPad mobile computer version of the Google "cloud drive" service to be launched in the near future. Google users can install the software on their computer or system and there will be a “cloud hard drive folder”. User can drag and drop documents, video, music files and photos directly to this folder and the file automatically show all the data in the cloud hard devices. Google cloud storage service provides user with 5 GB of free storage, you will have to pay $2.50 to upgrade to 25 GB every time.
With Google drive users can access all the data anywhere with much ease. For example, user access Internet to upload the edited document from the home but through the "cloud hard drive, you can directly retrieve the document at your office computer and make edit, share, and other operations there. Users do not have to worry about losing files, Photos and videos even if the laptop does not work or the phone does not work due to any reason.
Senior vice president of "cloud drive" says, it allows users to let through a Google account between the e- mail, search and social networks, including a variety of song, services to achieve seamless connection.
Cloud storage is not a new concept or service because companies such as Apple, Microsoft and Amazon, and other have already launched related services like Dropbox and Skydrive. It's main concept is to Keep Everything & Share Anything. In the near future we all will surely see gold-rush at the service.
